We launched in February, 2016 at the NY NOW winter market with 4 designs and one finish. However things accelerated quickly, Dounia Home was featured in Blogs and Magazines and sales from around the world started coming. Our brand was very well received and before we knew it we had a second collection on the way, offering over 20 designs, 8 sizes and four metal finishes.

Hassan Tower Rabat, Morocco. Commissioned in 1195 by Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world along with the mosque, also intended to be the world's largest.
The intricate Darj w Ktef design at the top of the minaret inspired our popular Nur collection including wall sconces, chandeliers and pendant lights.
It's extremely important for us here at Dounia Home, to give back to the community behind our products. A few months after our launch, a portion of our profits were reinvested in our artisans providing them with tools to help them grow as well as develop more skills.
Our turn-around time is 4 to 6 weeks, giving the artisans reasonable work hours and allowing them to manage their time efficiently.
Working directly with artisans allows us to cut out the middlemen, pay 30% higher wages, and holding them to our high standards while maintaining a competitive edge in the market-place.
We are very proud of our artisans, we give them a voice and an outlet to be creative. We also help them grow and learn new skills by always pushing the limits
of the craft.

Even as we grow, one thing that I’ve always wanted for DOUNIA HOME is to maintain the personal touch. We don’t try to make DOUNIA HOME look like a big corporation. We are as transparent as possible. This is why I share a lot of the behind the scenes about how I design products and run DOUNIA HOME. No matter how big DOUNIA HOME gets, I always want to be accessible to fans and customers.
