Our products are made from eco-friendly yet high-quality materials, making them sustainable and environmentally-friendly. As such, we aim to minimize our carbon footprint and improve the overall supply chain by lowering energy use.
OUR IMPACT
Our products are made from sustainable, high-quality materials, and incorporate the most eco-friendly components. We take our carbon footprint seriously, this is how we take good care of our planet
1. MATERIALS
Our products are made from solid high-quality copper, brass, and nickel silver.Let’s learn more about each metal and its low impact on our beautiful planet.
COPPER’s - superior thermal and electrical conductivity, combined with its 100% recyclability make copper a truly green material perfect for building a sustainable world.
BRASS - is a copper-based alloy that does not lose its chemical or physical properties in the recycling process. Environmental Advantages: The recycling process for brass is less energy-intensive as compared to aluminum and steel and yields a smaller carbon footprint.
NICKEL SILVER - A sustainable material must be durable and long-lasting. nickel silver can last for a hundred years or more, even in harsh environments. In addition, copper and its alloys are virtually 100% recyclable.
2. PACKAGING
Our products come in fabric bags that can be reused. Our boxes are made from recyclable materials. Our packing materials are biodegradable in fact all of our products come in plastic free packaging!
3. WIRING
All our fixtures come with LED bulbs. They produce less carbon than incandescent bulbs, which reduces the effects of global warming. They are Long lasting and energy Efficient.
After moving to the U.S. in 2003 and continuing my education in Art. I earned a B.S. in Design from Drexel University. I was fortunate to join the Michael Graves Architecture and Design firm as a senior designer. Where I had the honor of working closely with the legendary Michael Graves himself for almost 5 years. In 2015, I decided to pursue my dream and start my own line of products, for the well travelled home under the Dounia Home brand.
In February, 2016 Dounia Home Launched at the NY NOW winter market with 4 designs and one finish. However things accelerated quickly, Dounia Home was featured in Blogs and Magazines and sales from around the world started coming. Our brand was very well received and before we knew it we had 3 collections on the way, offering over 20 designs, 8 sizes and four metal finishes.
1. MATERIALS
Our products are majorly made from solid, high-quality copper, brass, and nickel silver. All the leftover metals from our production process go to a recycling plant that melts the metal and reuses it to make knobs and keys. Let’s learn more about each metal and its low impact on our beautiful planet.

WALNUT WOOD
Walnut wood is durable and long-lasting with a beautiful grain. It is resistant to wear and tear, and a biodegradable choice for interior decor items.
MARBLE
Marble is a natural stone and, owing to its optimal durability, is considered a green and sustainable building material. It can last years without requiring replacement and makes a stunning design statement.
RAFFIA
Raffia is the fiber from the leaves of a palm tree native to Africa. Its harvest does no harm to the plant, allowing it to continue to grow and produce. Raffia is compostable and renewable, making it a responsible choice for building materials.
LEATHER
Leather is a strong, durable, and flexible material — it doesn’t require upkeep and becomes more beautiful with age so can be enjoyed for years.
BONE INLAY
Bone inlay involves intricate patterns created by embedding hand-carved bone pieces into the surface of objects. The production process is ethical and sustainable — and done by hand.
